What Materazzi said to provoke Zidane

After an exhaustive study of the match video, and with the help of an Italian translator, Rees claimed that Materazzi called Zidane “the son of a terrorist whore” before adding “so just f*** off” for good measure.

There is as yet no _conclusive_ proof [/url]as to what were there exchange on the part of Zizou and Materazzi.
I wouldn’t put much stock in lip-readers, or card-readers for that matter. This will most likely remain one of: he said you said they said we said. And so it goes....

Kevin: I don’t know what was said. Nor do you or anyone else. (Only Zidane and Matterazzi know). But it doesn’t matter. The re-action was inappropriate. Zizou is a classic fallen hero. He won’t be the last. And so it goes…
