Veteran Claridge aims to reach 1,000th game
40-year old striker Steve Claridge is offering to play for free as he aims to clock up his 1,000th appearance.
Currently stuck on 999 games, he is unable to find a club willing to sign him so he can reach the milestone.
Claridge’s career stretches from 1983 and he has played for 18 different clubs: Fareham Town, Bournemouth, Weymouth, Crystal Palace, Aldershot Town, Luton Town, Cambridge United, Birmingham City, Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Portsmouth, Brighton & HA, Brentford, Wycombe Wanderers, Millwall, Gillingham, Bradford City, Walsall
